Capitalism suppresses individualism by connecting people to what they own, not what they are. The goal of socialism would be to achieve full individualism, allow people to pursue their pleasure by giving them all they require. Under this system machines could be used to do tedious tasks and prevent the degradation of people, and people wouldn’t be bound to worrying abt property.
