In modern society you see some of his wishes came true with machinery giving more time to women doing household work, but society still hasn't freed women from the slavery of chores. I think that ultimately comes down to how men choose to be. Where women seek to socialize and be free men just create more mess and chores. So its not a technological barrier as much as a social barrier.
