29% into The Luminous Dead and the cave environment is completely carrying this book for me right now. The body-horror survival details are fascinating, especially the feeding tube and surgical modifications for long-term cave descent. Jireh’s relationship with M is more complicated than I expected too. Jireh clearly resents and distrusts her handler, but I’m not convinced M is actually the monster she believes
