It appears as if the island is facing two choices right now: stability or chaos. Stability offers, predictability, security, and structure. Chaos, on the other hand, embodies uncertainty and unknown possibilities. Greenland will need to take risks, as will Puerto Rico.

S. feared Nazi occupation of the island, given Denmark’s occupation by Hitler. The world’s sole operating cryolite mine was in Greenland; it’s a vital component in making aluminum, used for planes during the war.
