I sort of wish that the book didn't do the whole flashbacks and everyone gets a pov thing. It would've kept it much more suspenseful and less transparent. And it's not it is like it is an exploration of those characters - if Hawkins wanted to build up their complexity, she should have just done it within the main pov / plot line maybe?

not sure if she thought she was doing a gone girl plot twist here like we aren't familiar with jane eyre?
