sentimental as the capacity to reflect on impressions and develop moral feelings, empirically measured through physiological traits tied to higher consciousness, stabilised in the european male-female dyad whose entwined effects of rationality and sentimentality found civilisation, against the unfeeling undifferentiated reflex-driven savages—white supremacist heteropatriarchal genocide as benevolence. superb research

white feminist gynoneurologists argued that the vagina interfaced with the brain, moral sentiment emerging through sexual pleasure, but one regulated through self-control, else the white race descend into workingclass degeneration or black primitivity. chaste heterosexual coupling led to civilisation—all else were threats eliminated through exclusion, eugenics, and euthanisation. the promiscuous were race traitors.

xenia I have a clearer understanding of why queers, migrants, feminists, etc. are still scapegoated as the fall of civilization, why mental illness is deployed against enemies of empire, and why viral metaphors like "brainrot" and "wokeism" remain immediately understandable.

We live in the shadow of degeneration theory. The way therapists guide clients towards self-actualisation, the way liberals call conservatives stupid and unthinking, the way trans folk are accused of corrupting children—all operate through logics of impressibility and sentimentality. The fear of too much impression, in a world lacking a colonial core to impress all citizens into morality.

Progress is a colonial construct based in white supremacy and heteropatriarchy. Evolutionary teleology is biopolitical: it determines who's human and worthy of life, and who's inhuman and antithetical life—a threat to be rounded up, imprisoned, converted, killed. Fascism is the colonial serpent consuming its own tail.

ZackJackPask Cutting the world in two, huh? It breaks people away from each other and themselves, never going anywhere but, like fascism, to where it already was heading: destruction.
Who knows when or if some day that degeneration theory will wither itself to allow new ways to live. I know here in Latin America things are bleak, specifically in my country Mexico: feminicides, corruption, parties that centralize all power, the whole shabang. The people are beautiful but, god, colonialism, internal and external, runs deep.

xenia Heh, everyone I've met from the North America is beautiful, but I hope I never find myself there.
