Ugh, this was a mistake. The writing is absolutely basic. I know this is YA, but even by those standards, the writing is dry as a bone. Furthermore, while this isn't necessarily the author's fault, the worldbuilding is basic. Hardly a single piece of terminology unique to the setting.
