I’m having a really hard time getting through this. The story is… fine so far. But the writing itself is really making me cringe.
To be fair, I am coming off a book hangover (rather, an author hangover) after bingeing all of Laura Frantz’s works (she’s amazing), but side by side there is NO comparison. This feels like a high schooler wrote it… bland vocabulary, flat sentence structure, it’s just bleh.
