So it all comes full circle. Now I see why the queen kept her disguise. For an opportunity. Just. like. this.

This is truly a nasty storm. But did Ingrid truly conjure it to try and kill Snow White? Is the mirror linked to her life force? Hopefully that necklace will help Snow in some way, and that the curse can be broken.

Huh, well I'll be damned.

Henri found Snow's father? But how? Isn't he dead? Well, at least she and the Dwarves have some semblance of a plan to stop the Evil Queen.

So THAT's how Ingrid found the mirror. Fascinating! And in between memories recent and distant, we see Snow White's resolve and Ingrid's lust for power manifest. But who is this Master she learned the dark arts from? And what happened to him?

So Anne is the daughter of the seamstress Margaret. And Ingrid's wickedness is known to everyone. But what really happened to Katherine? Did Ingrid poison her? Did she kill Georg, who supposedly ran away? In any case, it seems as though the novel is taking a "How did we get here?" approach. I like it so far.

This is an interesting way to set up a prologue. I thought we'd begin at the castle, with Snow White singing. Or with her running away from the huntsman. But we get some lore- Queen Ingrid is her stepmother and King Georg and Queen Katherine were her parents. But who is Anne? A friend? And Prince Henrich (or Henri) is already in bad shape?! What happened here?
