This is a 'short' audiobook, ie, it has less than 8:00 hours listening time and I often feel a bit 'short-changed' using a credit (A$14.95) for a "short book" Anyway, it's my choice and I have to live with it, in this case it is good so far :)

Heard the last 50 minutes - the Goodies vanquished the Baddies and Axel survived to fight another day! Surprise, surprise :))
Two quite good action books, 01 and 02, both 3-Stars, and now put on the "resting" shelf.

Axel and his crew have been fighting against narco-baddies in Mexico for it seems like forever! However, he had been hit just as I fell asleep, so the story obviously wasn't exciting enough to prevent that! It has been pretty implausible... :-/

I heard # 01, "Blaze Returns" last night, Audible offered me # 02 the moment I finished it, and for just one Audible Credit, too! :)) Having enjoyed # 01, I thought 'why not', so I accepted and listened until I dropped the iPhone :))

Berengaria That is going to be more and more the problem in the future. Readers (or as in your case listeners) want shorter books, but don't think one of 200 pages should cost the same as one of 500 pages, understandably. Publishing companies don't want to lose a penny in revenue as they feel they are constantly in crisis. As far back as 100 years ago, publishers were complaining "nobody reads anymore! We'll all be out of business soon!"

This is -- so I've heard -- one of the reasons they're still very wary of publishing novellas. Can't charge the same prices, so they'd have to sell more and they aren't sure they can.

I don't want shorter books, per se. What I'm saying, I think, is that I want "value"; value in money terms, value in 'book' terms, value in 'story' terms, value in literature terms... I know it sounds vague, but like any interpretation of "value", you know it when you see it and when you get it!
