Camus' attempt to answer what he claims is the most important question in philosophy, why is suicide an inappropriate decision, clearly no one chooses to come into this world, why should they bear the human condition anyway. What's even more upsetting is the unresponsiveness of the void to the deafening screech of man for meaning. This is what Camus refers to as the 'absurd'.
