Instead of “What is wrong with me to cause them to say this?” Shift to “Do I like how this person makes me feel?”

Instead of how can I fix this we can ask ourselves what part of me is feeling discomfort from this?

When you feel yourself fawning
Any situation in which you don’t need to be, ask yourself: What emotion am I trying to protect myself from?
Usually: it’s an uncomfortable one.

What we pour our attention into is what shapes our lives. Our thoughts are not actions. What we do with our thoughts and our emotions— that’s our responsibility and that’s what’s in our control.

Instead of our thoughts create reality I would say our Focus creates reality

It’s time to trust your future self to carry you through difficult situations— your future self has always gotten you through before.

The experience of what we’re feeling is real, but the thoughts surrounding those feelings aren’t always true.

The thoughts visiting are: do I have enough friends? Will this new job work out? Will I ever be a great actress? Will I ever make it? Will I like moving out? Will I find people I really like living with? Will I have to move back in with my mom? Will I hate working on Saturdays? When will I book something? Am I wasting my life?

The idea of closeness always confused me. Am I doing relationships right? Should I feel closer to people than this?
