I thought I was reading the lottery but then was thinking … why is this so long (isn’t it a short story?) and why is nothing connecting. The first few short stories I thought it was chronologically chapter based .. which I guess it IS connected in some way to the character James Harris. But I did not realize until I was a wee bit in. But enjoying it so far.
