yessss agree babe. if you hate a book then tell me why, gimme the tea. i do rate my dnfs most of the time personally, but you better believe i have a whole list of why. because not enjoying something is normal but hating for no reason other than to hate, it’s tiring 😩 i want to read varied reviews but not random negativity for the sake of it!! the recipes on why a friend hated a book is lowkey entertaining lol - i’m sat and seated to understand why a book wronged my bestie 🫢 xx

Agreed!! Because how are people rating things they have not read? Like even if it is a dnf, then it's at last an attempt at it. That there is a valid reason for dnf-ing or ranting about it. But hate for the sake of hate makes no sense.

I also don’t rate DNFs, but I do understand why some people do, and I have no issue with it if they actually explain why the book didn’t work for them — they still put time and effort into it. But rating a book you didn’t even pick up? That’s where I personally have a problem, and a pretty big one.

I have absolutely nothing against rating DNFs — you still put time and effort into picking the book up, reading part of it, and explaining why it didn’t work for you. But hating something just for the sake of hating? That’s where I have a problem, and honestly, I just don’t want to interact with that kind of negativity anymore.

honestly, I totally get ii bb. I only rate books less than 3 stars which I was actively hating while reading and I don't even rate DNFs because I haven't read them fully so, I cannot be a judge for them. plus ratings books you haven't read and that too one or two stars gives me an ick😣 love love love to rant reviews lol

@SK EXACTLY!!! Like how do you know you don’t love it or love it if you never read it?? That is beyond me… And those things frustrate me so bad, because when someone dnfs as you said time was spent there - book picked up, something was read at least and than you decided this is not for you… There is so much unnecessary negativity and for what I ask myself. I want to love book, I want to enjoy them and than to come here and see hate just for the sake of hating is a really bad feeling. I would rather enjoy recipes where I can even get a good laugh, or to see point that has been made in someone’s review. Honesty is the best policy!!!!

Girl as you should think about yourself that’s what book app supposed to be about! I just hate it when people start neglecting the reviews aswell just plain cheating to get the views and comments like that’s not really how it works 😭😭
