I listened to the audiobook and really appreciated hearing the author tell the story for herself. I also really identified with her struggling with how people may have perceived her as enabling her mother. I was also really shocked by the part where she realized that a drawing her mother had done of Jesus was actually herself with a beard, I feel like that would have been so validating to find when taking space.
