This is actually getting a bit too painful 🥲 like, the conversations they have is so interesting and I find myself agreeing with Maria's opinions most of the time.

It really shows how obsessive the author got when he only had the IDEA of the woman in the painting.
And the comments he did about how he'd though "oh the woman in the painting won't ever do that" like he actually knew her but meanwhile it's just the idea of her he made. I liked how the woman is the opposite.
