I was worried about reading a dated Black Panther comic, and maybe they are carefully curated. However, the perspective of Black Americans is told unflinchingly, starkly, and the horror is not the visual violence, but the inhumanity and dehumanization.

Inserting Black Panther as the hero into the harsh, fatal history as a fantasy of hope is so striking.
