I love the cover on this. I have read this before. This time I’m reading it for Pride Month (won’t get to it until after Sleepyhead) - and I also would like to get to the following for Pride Month: A Country of Old Men by Joseph Hansen; Enigma by Milligan & Fegredo (already cued up, just waiting for June); Drawing Blood by Poppy Z. Brite; Dhalgren by Samuel R. Delany; a Patricia Highsmith biography. So excited!

A reference to an "old friend", or "old friends" returning, in the back cover synopsis of a Doctor Who novel was always code for "a character from the TV show will be making an appearance in this novel". And we have that here. She had a very strange exit from the show, and I've never actually seen that story, so her tale continuing here is a bit tricky for me to follow. But overall this re-read is fun, good book.

The novel before this in the series was called So Vile a Sin. But they ended up having a problem publishing it on time and had to skip to this one. The problem was, So Vile a Sin gives us one of the most tragic events to occur in the Virgin line of Doctor Who books. It was really bad luck that THAT book got delayed until later. They apologized at the start of this book. Anyway, this re-read is for Pride Month.
