It makes sense she eventually gets off. She had a whole campaign to sway people on her side. Even the state pathologist who did the autopsies stepped out of the bounds of his position by consulting with a bioethicist to find an argument for extenuating circumstances

i can’t make sense of this author sometimes. First she seems to be certain Dr. Pou is a murderer that needs to be brought to justice but then she also shames the attorneys for their use of the legal case to further their political agendas. She even points out how they spread medical misinformation to the reporters for dramatic effect by claiming administering certain drugs “guarantees” death
