At heart, I'm a pretty nerdy bookworm. But when I was in that dress, my intellect dissapeared. It wasn't a part of me. It wasn't relevant.
Beyond that, my body became something that existed for other people. It was static, captured again and again in pictures. I was a well-paid statue who knew how to smile. I wasn't the complete human being I wanted to be. There is no real power in that type of passivity.
