So they say Nathaniel Hawthorne is one of the great writers. Maybe back in the 1800’s but I found him wordy. This book could have been half as long—his depiction of sights, sounds, people—I had to skim through some of it since it was so redundant. The ending was good but 150 pages vs 300+ would have made it more enjoyable and perhaps more impactful.
