In honor of this book being re-released for an adult audience, I’ve decided to try and read it again.
So far, I vehemently disagree with the choice to publish it for adult audiences. The writing is so juvenile and shallow. There isn’t a lick of subtext or any tangible depth. It’s full of bland characters and even blander info dumps about the world which lacks any real substance.

Why the fuck was the prologue 26 pages😭😭 so sorry but a prologue should not be 5% of the whole book and be that boring??
Why did I read 26 pages of boring character description just to have these stupid characters (that I don’t care about) die in honestly an extremely anticlimactic way?
Also Andry was so fucking boring and Taristan is a laughably bad villain
