Although I was a bit disoriented by the first person perspective/monologue vibe of the story it was interesting and novel to me. I’ve consumed enough Japanese art to realize there is a lot of anxiety of the state of their youth. It’s a theme across books and films like Battle Royale. The author had a lot to say in this story. I found it became a little repetitive at times, but that ending?? Perfection.
