I was expecting this book to be more about supernatural/spirituality. And I am finding a lot of it is historic and the uses of herbal medicine, and how the different cultures blended their specific remedies. It talks a lot about the midwives & the people on the plantations, the Black people, who were renowned healers. Don’t judge a book by the cover. This is not a book solely about HooDoo/snake medicine.
