I might DNF this book. I don’t know how much longer I can listen to Sabine being a heartless monster. I guess that’s what I get for reading a vampire book. 🤦♀️ Really glad I got the Audible and not the hardcover which I looked at several times in the bookstore. This book might even be making me like Addie LaRue less, which I didn’t think was possible. I loved Addie.

This book is well written, just like Addie LaRue, but I’m having a much harder time connecting with the characters. Sabine is not likable for me, which is much different than Addie LaRue, who I loved. I’m hoping this book gets better. Fingers crossed. It’s a slow read. I don’t feel like a lot is happening besides constant murder.

So I’ve listed to 35 chapters and there’s still 49 to go. 🫠 This book is exhaustingly long with no plot. I don’t mind a long book. I’ve read lots of long books. But this is draaaaaggggginnnng. And can I say the way the chapters are labeled on the audio book are also unnecessarily irritating. They just keep starting over at chapter 1 everytime it changes POVs. Uncalled for.
