Read the first couple short stories and the novella a couple weeks ago before I started "Abaddon's Gate". Here are my thoughts on the ones I've read
The Butcher of Anderson Station: Perfectly fine, but I didn't really care to learn more about Fred's background, so I didn't love it
Drive: Awesome and really good
Gods of Risk: Didn't care too much for the story but seeing Mars for the first time was cool.
