Brin just saw the Forsaken in the ruins…
Interesting concept. A little similar to Restarting the Apocalypse, but much better.
I haven’t read that one yet, but it looks interesting. Aspects of this one are quite good, but I could do with fewer adolescent asides.
It takes a bit to really get going. Around the 50% mark I didn't want to put it down.
Yeah, the early parts are the “introduce the character and the reader to the world and the system” that seems pretty common of LitRPG, in general. Frankly, if I write a LitRPG, I’m going to work hard to cut that way down or eliminate it. Just throw the reader in and let them figure it out. :-)I agree that things really ramped up with they got to the ruins. That’s where the action ramped up and the action got real.
