also it's been sooo long i watched a show as it airs week after week, theorizing and yapping abt each episode waiting for the next is going to be SO fun. (torturous but fun)

the effort going in to this show is insane, i love it sm. and exactly! lestat always keeps things so entertaining and it's gonna be so wild. also, we never really got into his head except briefly so, im excited for that. im gonna miss louis and claudia being the main characters tho 😔😔

and yeah, watching it weekly is gonna be such a good experience. im sad it's so little episodes - i think seven or something?? but, it'll be a great seven weeks.

Omg definitely !! Even tho this isnt Louis pov anymore i really hope he remains a main part of the story and stays present, unlike the way Lestat was barely there during s2 or else it'll be devastating, especially with the few glimpses we got from the trailer he seems like he got wild stuff going on. My Claudia....she better be haunting that blonde idiot heavy.
At least we get more interesting stuff with side characters, like I need to knoww what the fuck is going on with Gabrielle ? And Nicki ?? Also if Assad Zaman's gorgeous face and stellar acting isn't present on my screen every week i'm going to cry it's serious

those brief clips in the trailer of claudia and louis looked soo good. i think there was this one where louis says something like "i can't see her right now" and i was gagged. that angst (and esp her haunting them) is gonna kill me. have u seen the spoilers about gabrielle and lestat's relationship?? im a loustat monagamist but, im excited to know more about nicki and armand's relationship with lestat cause people who read the books love the shit out of those couples. im also excited for assad zaman as well! he's such a good actor, i can't wait to see how he is now that the truth has been revealed and he's lost some of his cool.

Yup like ! i think much like with Gabrielle, wtv went on between Lestat and Nicki and Lestat and Armand really participated to shape him as a person (vampire), so their dynamic will surelyyy be interesting. + anyway we know he's v much still obsessed with Louis in present times so I wouldn't worry abt the amount of Loustat scenes 😋 I keep replaying that one from the trailer where they seem to be in a mock divorce courtroom and Louis is chill asf while Lestat ragebaits himself by talking abt how he used to spend his time with Armand it's soooo fun lmao

i saw theories that what we know about the trial could actually be far from the truth because it was all second-hand info from armand... terrified. and YEAH, lestat and louis are gonna be crazy to watch tgther because so much time has passed with so much trauma as well. i have faith they will treat the gabrielle thing as the horror it is because they've been overall solid in how they adapt stuff like that. i've seen it being promoted by the actors by the darkest and saddest season so far and with this fucking incest plotline 😭😭 i just know it's gonna be fucked up. my heart already hurts for lestat.

and yess, i know exactly the loustat scene you're talking about! i'm happy that there's gonna be sm scenes of them. apparently louis wasn't that big of a character in ths books? (per tiktoks anyways) so im happy there's a change in the show cause, i would miss them together and louis.

can't wait to see more of that mask being shed for armand. i already liked him as an "antagonist" with only brief glimpses of his trauma and i can't wait to find out about it all.

- lestat pov, it's a LOT. Esp if ur not his number one fan, he's all over the place and naturally it's super normal imo that it feels like a totally different show, i'm kinda starting to understand why they renamed it lmao. Like it's a continuation but the vibes are totally different and it can be super jarring at first i think
- it's 95% lestat 5% Daniel 1% Louis Armand Gabriella. Personally idm bcs it's one episode and it's his season but...i do hope we get to see more of the rest of the cast bcs like

YEAHH i saw people saying (and you could see it from the trailer ig) that this season was gonna be very campy which is a very different vibe than what i normally gravitate towards so, i did have some fears about that. lestat is also not my fav of the show but, i do like him and he's entertaining asf so, im hoping idk... it will just be lestat-being-lestat and i'll have a fun time even though it's different. i just saw on twitter that someone working on the show said tvl is for people who didn't like iwtv seasons 1 and 2 which is?? interesting.

i know it is his show but, i didn't expect it to be purely him im crying. esp cause apparently the side characters have more of a presence than they did in the books soo what was going on in that book. later episodes HAVE to (hopefully) include way more of the cast we love. even though lestat is entertaining, his dynamics with everyone else is so juicy that i will need more even if im his no 1 fan. also, hope his fellow bandmates aren't npcs. 😶😶

Yeah absolutely, Lestat is entertaining but he's especially so around other people, and seeing him rn in modern day, centuries after the last time we last saw him from his point of view is like, it'd be a real shame if they don't take advantage to have the characters we already know (+Gabriella Nicki and Akasha ?? maybe hopefully) and develop their dynamics
I miss the past aspect as well, hopefully it's still going to come back bcs we're gonna get his backstory but yeah it won't beat New Orleans, and i miss Louis's narration, that man knows how to tell a story, lestat is wayy more chaotic (ofc)

Yuppp, they're doing Jacob Delainey and Assad really fucking dirty. Also apparently they changed a line that alluded to Gabrielle's gender identity storyline in the first ep even tho Rolin Jones wanted to have it in so really it's bigotry all around.
What's really fucking funny is that from a marketing pov it doesn't make sense either, how the hell are they thinking trying to make the show appealing to ppl who didn't like or watch S1 and 2 is going to work lmao, first of all the ep so far is riddled with references to past episodes and storylines, u literally cannot watch this season without having seen the others, even if it doesn't have the same name, and second of all, the people who have been excited about tvl and who are going to support it monetarily are the people who were already tuned in and enjoying S1 and 2 so what the fuck

(view spoiler)[ i actually enjoyed it, i had low expectations after seeing what everyone was saying but, it was good. compared to the pilots of s1 and 2, i get why it's inferior comparativel tho. i think louis just got to the meat of the matter immediately while lestat was meandering in the present timeline. the episode ended off on the most creepy note 😭 i wish i didn't get spoiled that gabriella was his mother or that would've HIT. the small tidbits we are getting about lestat's past has me so excited. also, louis' leg?? armand's eye?? happy that lestat is hallucinating louis (those are enough loustat crumbs for me) but, i wanted some claudia in there! the new characters don't seem like boring npcs which is nice. daniel is also always fun. Apparently bbjenks is an important character in the books ? and book readers have mixed feelings abt what they're doing with her so far so i'm very curious abt what's going to happen with her. The fact that she said Daniel dies bad though........if we can erase that part of the episode that would be nice hahahaha yeah. yeah; overall i agree sm potential for good stuff happening i'm lowkey even more excited abt episode 2 now

Hahahaha great question...many things...I don't think it's as good as the first one 😭. Honestly I can accept that unlike Louis, Lestat isn't as willing to share things about his past and what he does share is clipped short parts bcs he doesn't want to be vulnerable but I'm going to need Daniel to sit him down and talk because the quality of the show does suffer from it. And the scenes we get with Gabi in the present don't really make up for what we don't get in the past. Like I'm fine with excuses like the wigs are bad and the past scenes feel weird bcs Lestat narration for ONE episode but certainly not the entire season lmao. (Still I really did like the conversation Lestat has with Gabi after the wolf attack, it portrays well how their relationship takes shape, even tho the attack could have been replaced with literally anything else lol).
Overall I'm really nostalgic of the Louis Armand Daniel trio in Dubai because it was such a perfect setting for the story to be told and I understand that it can't be the same for Lestat but imo they should have kept some of it, At the very least, Daniel who is actually on the bus should be more present and challenging Lestat in what he's telling us, it's just too good of a narrative tool.
My favorite scene is the conversation between Louis and Daniel unsurprisingly, like them catching up and Louis straight up talking about Claudia and how he still thinks about her and sees her in other people ??@? Daniel bringing up his Armand issues ??? (and then ruining everything by introducing the Talamasca ppl in typical Daniel fashion) like give me thirteen of them right now !!!!! Plus Jacob Anderson is just too good we need him in more scenes I beg.
So yeah mixed feelings, still looking forward to ep three but in my eyes if the rest of the eps are like Toledo, it won't make Tvl a bad show, but a painfully average one compared to Iwtv.

Update since I stayed up to watch episode three......yeah this might be the best episode of tv I've seen in a fucking while we are so back and I'm so relieved 😭 not sure how I'm supposed to sleep and go to work like a normal person after this I am shell shocked and in awe

The episode in itself, genuinely prepare urself like, a good 70% of it is disturbing as hell and thinking back on it still makes me deeply uncomfortable. I haven't cried like that watching tv in a while man, it's awful but for the most part well written imo (except the Gabi part, still really can't get behind that)
