i really enjoy how descriptive joyce is, and how he drags out even the most mundane of scenes (in a good way). i imagine a non irish reader would find this extra difficult to read given all the irishisms. i think ill pause this to read portrait of the artist first, so that i can get a better understanding of stephen dedalus.
