I'm having to leave this book with a section near the end unread. I had to jump ahead to read the last 20 or so pages. Will pick up another copy at some point (I gave mine away) and read the 30 pages remaining.
I appreciated the Author's Notes at the end, telling what happened to some of the main characters after Thomas Cromwell and Henry VIII.

Sep-2025: I left behind the hardcover version I was reading on holiday and bought a softcover version and carried on. It's still too large a book to travel with, and I'm headed off again. I will have to resume and finish reading this book when I return.

(I was reading a hardcover edition and have returned it to the charity shop, as it is too big and heavy to travel with on a flight. I will have to find another copy when I reach my destination, so I can carry on with the reading and the year-long, guided slow read of Mantel's trilogy.)
