Dang, it seems like such an overwhelming topic to actually come down on a settled answer for (regarding necessary and sufficient conditions, though perhaps paradigm conditions are good enough)

@alex he actually has a lot of cool things to say about that!! He quotes a lot of Vladimir Lossky (who I highly recommend reading), and talks a lot about how relational networks and our potential to form them are key to defining personhood, as well as the dangers of creating a list of traits/characteristics one must meet to qualify as a person
