Knowing what I knew before reading this, and seeing modern history write itself among these pages is absolutely heart-wrenching. Decades of history, the slow evolving and degradation of Palestinian citizens and their homes and the tactics utilized by Israeli military is barbaric, calculated, and inhumane.

Just finished one of the most devastating chapters I’ve ever read

“She and her husband had to hide themselves in the tiny stairwell, an ordeal no less phenomenal than that of our neighbor’s obese wife trying to fit herself in that tiny hole in the wall below our house.” This is like the 2nd time this person’s been catching strays wth.

“Meeting friends in the street, I greeted them with exaggerated hugs. I held onto them for a long time, as though we had not seen each other for decades and never expected to see each other again.” Devastating.
