the world building is pretty interesting which is what’s keeping me going, everything else is just subpar. the romance reads like fanfiction i would’ve gone crazy for when i was like 12. some of romantic scenes are laughable, borderline cringeworthy. i’m only 47% in but i hope the writing improves somehow so i can read the next book :)

reading this book’s 1 star reviews is more entertaining than the book itself. the writing is still repetitive, everything about the world building is mostly unoriginal but I would rather die than to throw in the towel. I die every time I remember this travesty (among her other books) has made Maas extremely wealthy :,)
