Yeah….no. Almost done and I only have the epilogue to get through. I’m tempted to 1 star this, but I think I’ll give it two. I do know that there are 3 more books to this, but that must be a “second trilogy” since the story is definitely finished right now. I won’t be touching that with a 10 foot pole and won’t be reading anything else by Clare.

The so-called big reveal is finally dropped. Dragging that out for three whole books was absurd. Man, there’s so many things wrong with this book. Other than the breakneck pacing, the “romance” is very intrusive to the point where the fantasy and other character development is just dropped or rushed over. I’m also supposed to believe people can’t recognize their own family members!

AHA!!! AN ANGEL SANCTUARY REFERENCE! I knew it! I pointed out the similarities to that manga in one of my comments for book 1. I knew the author was influenced by Yuki’s manga, but I must say the manga is vastly superior to whatever Clare’s trying to do.

Just finished Part 1 and I can’t roll my eyes hard enough. The author really wants to drag out the whole Jace&Clare=siblings nonsense, but even the most clueless reader won’t buy that. And if you don’t buy that then you dismiss what was just revealed. I can’t even believe these dummies even came to that conclusion. Or at least Jace did. Fake drama! Anyways, this is going way too fast. Pacing is VERY rushed.

Goal #1: To complete The Chronicles of Collecting Dust. This is book 7 of that “series” and my goal is to read 12. Anyways, it’s time for some light reading and to finish off this series. Just started the third chapter and everything feels super rushed. Major stuff happened in the first 20 pages, eliminating the significance of the previous book’s cliffhanger. I’m so suspicious of Sebastian right now.
