I launched him up and he splayed his wings, catching the wind as he rose up in the beautiful blue sky. The sun made me squint, and I shielded my eyes with my book so I could watch Bruno fly off. It was hard not to worry when he was away on his own, but I just had to trust that he was capable of looking after himself.
