Over te course of the following months, I waited for the inevitable. For him to lose interest, to become tired of me. To become overwhelmed with this constant hunger I had for his closeness, for keeping such sharp focus on us. Not letting one thing slip away from me, wanting to get every detail between us just right.

There was something in his eyes that offered itself to me. It was so immediate, so intense, it felt almost like voyeurism. Like I could see more than I was supposed to, looking into his eyes. Like I was allowing him to see more than he should, as he looked back into mine.
