did editing not exist in the 90's? the last book ended with an epilogue that didn't carry forward to this book and instead they're getting into what happened in the epilogue halfway through this book?? also 15 chapters ago alex told his kids he proposed but then he told them AGAIN 10 chapters later and it was somehow the first time he told them?? genuinely what
