Too much smut and not enough story. I'm only still here for the mystery and that's very much a secondary plot, unfortunately.

I've read exactly one and a half pages... the Prologue... and I'm already mesmerized. 😯

It is now. As others have said, it was sluggish (very wordy imagery) early ... and I've seen some early DNFs in my feed ... but now it's finally getting interesting. Writers such as this one lose many readers early and I have the patience of a 4 year old. If I hadn't been expecting it based on other reviews, I would have bailed before now. The writing style isn't going to work for many and it's a bit too over-the-top for my tastes ... but, yes, good now, and I'll just read in small morsels.

patrícia I can see your points and I totally understand them, the writing is in fact vivid and ott, in my case it was exactly what glued me to the story, and I loved the vibe it created. I hope in small morsels this is a win for you 🤞

For example ... I saw some comparisons (and I agree at this point) with the Raymond Chandler "Philip Marlowe" books set in the 1940s. I LOVE those! However, 'The Big Sleep' (Philip Marlowe #1) is 231 pages and this one is 482 pages. That's my issue. WAY too much for my tastes. Great story ... too wordy.
