i’ve only read a few books that are tagged as classics (2) in my time, but i can’t wait to start reading the ones i’ve bought! drop your favorite (or least favorite- so i know to avoid/proceed with caution) classics!

@m (SORRY I DONT KNOW THAT FONT LOLLL) ohhh okk!! i own that one and actually have heard multiple of my friends saying that it’s overrated! so good to know, i still want to read it but im not expecting much at all! thanks for sharing girl lysm mwah <33
I rlly love Charlotte Brontë and obviously Jane Austen is the classic author of all time so def those 2 :)) also Virginia Woolfe, I’ve only read one book by but she has a really interesting writing style and her writing is very queer coded
@liviAHH! love to see Virginia Woolfe mentioned!! i keep seeing her books at my local thrift bookstore but never getting them (NOTE: THEY’RE ONLY LIKE 2$ SO I SHOULD GET THEM, RIGHT??)
Ohhh yesss jane austen is a classic author for a reason, i own 2 of her books (well really- i own a big book of like 4 of her novels in one, and then i own pride and prejudice).
And i’ve heard of Charlotte Brontë but never did any deep dives and found out what her books are about!! so i’ll definitely be doing that soon.
love that these are all women authors~
TYSMM LIVI!! <333
@cyd my duty as a feminist to spread the gospel of women classical writers 🥹🥹 hope u enjoy your next reads <3
little women and pride and prejudice are really good! i’m currently reading wuthering heights and i love the intrigue and atmosphere. i also recommend “a chronicle of a death foretold” (a novella). forplays, “a streetcar named desire” and “pygmalion” are good!
Does wuthering heights have spice in it?? I want to read it but i wasn't sure cuz i know the movie does.
"Swiss Family Robinsone", "Journey to the Center of the Earth", "Heidi", "A Little Princess", and "Black Beauty".
That is quite the haul you have already! Let’s see favorite classic I’ve read would be To Kill A Mockingbird and least favorite would be The Great Gatsby, only because it didn’t “wow” me when I read it in high school, still a good classic regardless.
The scarlet letter was definitely my least favorite classic I’ve read. But if you do read it I’d be so interested to see what you think!
@coconut readsohhh!! thanks for so many recs! i was wanting to read wuthering heights before it was turned into a movie and never got to it. so i think i’ll try giving it a shot!!
and oooo! i’m very interested in the novella you mentioned!
@Emma TOh! i keep seeing “Journey to the center of the earth” at the bookstore i go to! i’ll have to go get it! thanks for the recommendations!
@JakobThanks! good to know! i’ve been thinking on reading the great gatsby for awhile now, im still going to read it but now that a couple of you guys have mentioned it as your least favorite? my expectations have dropped LOLL!

Sure! Hope you find a new favorite among them!
Oh, and forgot to mention "Peter Pan"...where my love of fantasy originated!
