It’s a small victory in the grand scheme of things, but you can truly start to see Darrow’s goal become true in this moment! Making “enslaved” Golds feel equal to him in his leadership, sticking to his side as they defy Apollo’s orders, AND THEN they all taunt the proctors and chant Darrow’s name?! Darrow might not realize it, but you can tell he was born to become a revolutionary!

Just wanna say that I think Sevro is a pretty cool character. When he was first introduced I expected him to be one of those prick one-liner characters that just stay on the sideline — but now he’s easily one of my favorites. I’m hoping I get to see him in the next book.

What an insane series of events. Darrow topples House Minerva, outsmarts House Diana, leading House Mars with a successful victory on those two fronts. Everything seemed up for Darrow, but the Jackal shifted his momentum immediately.

And to transition into the next part with him dying again, I feel like that’s gonna be something symbolic.

WHAT A CLEAN TAKEOVER

If I was in Cassius’ position I’d probably do the same. It’s just a downhill battle from here especially for Titus — they can’t live on berries and raw food forever. I’m surprised no one from his side has considered taking a peek and has switched to Darrow’s side already.

This part of the book feels like Harry Potter but instead of magic — everyone’s a Viltrumite.
