It’s great how every Pynchon novel has a section of stilted dialogue where a throwaway character mentions their ethnicity for no particular reason.

It’s really cool how there will be a very thought provoking discussion on class warfare and capitalism in turn-of-the-century America that takes up an entire page and it will be immediately followed up by a no less detailed and lengthy description of someone having their penis caught “experimentally” in a laundry wringer.
