Elara talking about those faced with Death laughing and finding joy in moments knowing they're still doomed. The parallels between death and a relationship you know is already over. Something as tragic as it is beautiful in its fleeting moments. This book is clawing at something raw and vulnerable, all too relatable to be unaffected.
