I’m not sure if the words are too wordy for me. Or if this is intentionally set that way, to set the tone for the world building. Lot of jargon that’s specific to this world, and lot of heavy words, maybe unnecessary? So far, looks like there are 9 different planets in this universe. And they’re thrown into this house saying that they’ll be challenged to become next 8 Lyctors with their 8 cavaliers.
Not all necromancers were built the same. Seems like the ninth house is the only one which does the face painting, to invoke horror?
Harrowhark is definitely one smooth talker. Still don’t understand the intense hatred between Gideon and Harrow.
Everyone seems snarky, the twins, the cavaliers in general, except for Dulcinea. She seems like the kind, beautiful, soft eyed girl, who supposed to die when she was young. But somehow she survived, and now she is interested in the ninth house, especially Gideon? She’s extremely smart, she makes out everything from the body language even though Gideon speaks nothing.
Harrowhark disappears, god knows where. And Gideon keeps wandering to find random halls filled with doors, terraces, most of them ornate but withering away.
The 3 priests? One of them teacher, says that there are no challenges that are going to be given by them? The tasks will appear in front them, as and when they should? That’s so vague. And the shuttles disappear.
There’s one thing though, where is the King Undying did he die? Where are these old Lyctors who have been serving for the past 1000 years??
Also, who came when the shuttle docked itself on the first night they all travelled to the first house?
It’s interesting so far. The story seems to be slow and fast at times. More world building in some chapters, describing the atmosphere and the environment and the characters, than actual plot.

Color me intrigued though. I’m in it now😅
