I'm in the second chapter and I'm mostly just feeling annoyed about the narrative that there's supposedly a genetic predisposition for humans to push against/conquer nature because of survival of the fittest. I feel like the narrative completely erases cultures that had a give-and-take relationship with nature as Robin Wall Kimmerer (and I'm sure many others) write about. This dude is on thin ice with me already
