yaaaayyyy! i doubt this will end the war but there appears to be a plan but its all murky and involves somewhat lobotomized severely damaged characters and a severely damaged ship i cannot wait to see how this ends!!!!

holy moly! the war against the murder crabs continues! human traitors joined the fray and we get a mercifully quick, brutal interrogation, the murder crabs kill some prisoners and children, offscreen nothing triggery,imo. neal asher is dealing out brutal war stuff but not grindhouse torture porn! its great! this book is on course for five stars!!!

oh dear! we just went through a gruesome not too triggery torture/medical experimentation scene led by the murder crabs it involved children:( these crabs are evil and i hope they get just desserts!

holy crap this war is devastating and grinding entire planets must be sacrificed to the prador murder crabs while the polity slowly retools to a wartime industrial base! this feels bleak like ww1 in space! so damn good theres been a surprise psychopath murderer mutilator but its not overly long or triggery, just gnarly!

oh joy! a new friend has appeated! clinically insane psychotic scorpion shaped murder drones! hopefully that will stop the xenocidal murder crabs🙏🤞 lol magnificent book!

holy moly! these prador arent "only" high tech murder crabs, theyre high tech torture murder crabs! ooop, you cant share a galaxy with baddies like that so xenocide might be an ethical option, we will see how this is handled in the book! i looooove this series so far! RIP to all the minor characters we lost! :(

yikes!!! this book is going to be brutal innon triggery ways! these murder crabs are smart and strong! and they have better spaceships than the polity does! i feel like its going to have the same desperate grueling feel that judas unchained did once morninglightmountain attacked the commonwealth! this is sooo good! no main character deaths thus far but lots of minor side characters are gone! chefs kiss!

oh lol how droll! the ai that rule this polity are not as godlike as the culture minds but theyre definitely more manipulative andmalevolent! i love it!! did these machines know how demented and xenocidal the murder crabs actually were and allow this war to happen?? its obviously far too early to know but i cannot wait to see what the heck happens! how delicious!!!

lol, well the Minds from ain m banks' culture are waaay more competent than these polity ai are! our cast is heading to a first aid depot on a space station invaded by the prador murder crabs! the culture would have known these crabs are omnicidal and umpteen lives would have been saved! i am loving the contrast between these beloved scifi series! soooo good!

oh neat! this one character just got a cybernetic implant and the book is showing us how her mind and body are integrating it. with zero evidence, i have a feeling this planet is going to get invaded by the liller crab aliens and that this character will be killed and eaten by them! i hope i am wrong because she seems like a nice person! lol
