Holy shit this book is insane like genuinely insane Rin is probably one of the most flawed main characters I’ve read so far. This plan with Altan is stupid and she knows it.

Rin has finally disproved the gods yet all she wants is more power it’s kind of interesting that she’s not learning the right lessons from these trials and tests I can definitely see the hints of her being a very morally grey main character

Rin learns of Kitays rich upbringing and talk about the red opera movement of religious fanatics that want to kill the empress idk the way they are talking I think the empress might die or die in a later book and kitays father will be killed

She pledged lore I was right!! Also lean weed empress intervened to kick Atlan out of lore and into strategy to make him a good warrior cause she wanted to use him

She’s burning like literally burning after fighting super hard against Nezha still unsure who won or if the fight is paused. She speaks out Jiang. All I could think about is she has too much fire so she’ll loose. You need balance of all 6 elements or 5 I can’t remember

Is pride a good thing to have in a warrior? Should Rin forfeit the round against Nezha?

Her training the Jiang and the pig paid off against popular opinion she made it to finals of the tournament after defeating Venka

Empathy for Sunzi the pig as he’s gonna be butchered. She does have some emotional depth with the gravity of this situation
