The very last of John's novels I've still yet to read. It's a collab book starring two protagonists, but with the story only really kicking off a third of the way in, it kinda feels like both authors wrote as if they were only writing their own book.

Done -- altogether a unique book and probably one I'd personally highlight as one of the better LGBT YA. It's a snapshot of a particular period of LGBT rights in America, the last of the pre-Obergefell years where acceptance was rapidly emergent, though still somewhat tenuous. Because of the perspective-switching chapters, the book doesn't really get as interior with its protagonists as I would've wanted.
