I first picked up this story when I was 6 or 7, by mistake.
Didn't read it completely but enjoyed it and thought that it was a children's Story about not getting caught up in flow of things for the sake of it.
Growing up, the lesson remains the same; albeit without the hope.
And the realisation that we might never truly understand life.
