I'm a little past it now but SIMON MAGUS IS ACTUALLY SALOME MAGUS made me hoot with glee. This book feels like eating a very expensive box of chocolates. Just. Pure pleasure. But!! Also it's consolidating all the James Tabor stuff I've been reading (I am pretty sure the author has also read James Tabor).
