Enjoying it so far. Applebaum is center right, which means we are certainly not going to see eye-to-eye on much. But she's an old-school (pre-MAGA / John McCain / Burkean) conservative, so I'm doing my best to keep an open mind and ignore her occasionally unfair jabs at the left.

The recent chapters have moved from Polish politics to British politics and included a nice digression on the evolution of mass communication, from the printing press to today. Also, some reflections on political change and fractioning of narratives as a driver, especially for those with “authoritarian” (here, in a psychological sense) tendencies and dreams of unity.
